life and death
everyday we throw around the terms of life and death loosely, almost as if the two tragedies are items that you can purchase. i consider them both tragedies because one typically wastes their life not living. they spend it following trends, ideas, and lifestyles that they deem acceptable because they are more appealing to others.
and death is a tragedy because it is the life that is being taken so that one can realize the true meaning of living. it’s a heavy cross to carry, think about it. hearing that one is ill, injured, is dying, or is passing/has passed leads you to think “wow, that’s so sad” or “they were such a good person”…but what makes death so sad? the fact that they got cheated out of living by a code or are missing out on discovering what it means to live for themselves? maybe it’s so sad that it took death to make you yourself realize that life is more than living, that life is a gift that you need to make the most out of every single day that you are granted the opportunity to do so.
and so life and death leave most people with miserable feelings, but instead of dwelling on them, focus on the true purpose of living and the power of living for yourself. live so that if you were the person that had to die to teach someone to live, they would want to live their lives just as fully and inspirationally as you did.
